WASHING & DRYING

Washing and drying; is charged on a dry weight bases, per machine. It is advisable to divide your clothes between dark and light colours, taking a machine for each. Process time for washing, drying and folding is approximately one and a half hours.

IRONING

All ironing is hand ironed on a commercial steam vacuum table. Shirts can be finished on hangers or packaged, as when new, ideal for travelling. There is a 10% reduction for 6 or more shirts.

WhiteWash offer a high qualtiy Drycleaning service. Always read the labels! especially when buying new clothes. For the majority of suits, trousers, jackets and skirts the dry cleaning process is perfect, however many delicate garments are carrying inaccurate cleaning instructions. Take care when you purchase. Leather will be damaged in a standard process; sequins, buttons and delicate fastenings require special care. Please ask for advice.

All our alterations are undertaken by one of Dublins’ finest tailors – a gentleman who served his apprenticeship when suits were carefully measured and hand made!
His repair work to fine delicate garments is second to none.

Fabrics which are in constant sunlight, such as curtains and covers will, over time, breakdown. Especially natural fibres such as cotton and wool. Although they may appear just a little faded, when washed or dry cleaned the very structure of the fabric may collapse.

Any wool, including cashmire and angora, requires great care and no heat! Heat, either water or air, will result in shrinkage! These items should be hand washed in cold water and laid flat to dry. Take care you do not put your best jumper in with your regular washing! Unfortunately our staff cannot go through every item in your wash!

Please be aware that coloured items may run their colour! Especially when new. Take care to separate darker colours and whites so they are washed in separate machines.
